About Devon

As an empath I have a keen ability to "put myself in the shoes of others" and view situations from many different perspectives. I've used this ability many times in many different ways; from babysitting, to caring for animals, to providing volunteer counselling in person and in online mental health support groups, and much much more!

In Canada, I've been from coast-to-coast not only once or twice but THREE times; and all over in-between! I've met a vast variety of different people, as well as experienced many different walks of life, schooling environments, and living conditions; all the while soaking up skills, experience, and wisdom that have sculpted me into quite a unique character with the independence and determination to overcome any obstacle that comes my way.

I'm confident that my English skills, along with my adaptability as a Jack-of-all-Trades, will be more than capable of providing students with a unique and easy-to-follow learning experience you won't find anywhere else!

About the lesson

I may be new when it comes to teaching, however I recall my time as a student quite well. The techniques and teachings I learned from are still fresh in my memory and I can readily summon the lessons I've learned to assist in any areas where help is needed.

The vast majority of my childhood was spent with my nose buried in a book and on numerous occasions I found myself annoyed when my immersion in the story was ruined by a spelling or grammatical error.

All throughout grade school, English had always been one of my top-scoring classes and I'm confident I'll be able to help identify any areas of the language students need support with, and come up with a personalized study plan that works for you!

Any grade from 1-12 is well within my comfort zone, and since I'm a novice tutor I'll adapt my lesson plans to suit the student. As a Jack-of-all-Trades, I assure you, adapting is what I do best! I'm always learning, trying new things, and figuring out multiple different ways to tackle a challenge.

I would be extremely appreciative and honoured to be given a chance, not only to pass along a skill I excel at, but also to be given the opportunity to learn a new skill, acquiring experience in teaching!
