About Ashwathi
With a PhD in Biotechnology and several years of professional experience in biotechnology, diagnostics and scientific research, I offer personalised online lessons designed around each student’s individual needs and learning goals.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I take a patient and supportive approach. My aim is not simply to help students memorise information, but to help them understand concepts clearly, ask questions confidently and develop the skills to solve problems independently.
I have experience working in both academic research and industry, which allows me to bring real-world scientific examples into my lessons and show students how the concepts they learn are applied beyond the classroom.
Whether you need help preparing for an exam, understanding a difficult Biology topic, improving your Biotechnology knowledge, or developing university-level research and scientific writing skills, I can tailor the lessons to your level.

My teaching approach is based on making science clear, practical and engaging rather than relying on memorisation. I first assess the student’s current understanding and learning goals, then tailor each lesson to their level and pace. I use simple explanations, diagrams, real-world examples, questions and step-by-step problem solving to help students understand the underlying concepts.
For more advanced students, I use scientific papers, case studies and research-based examples to develop critical thinking and research skills. I can also support students with scientific writing, literature reviews, research methodology, dissertations and presentations.
A typical lesson is 60 minutes, although I can adapt the duration depending on the student’s age, subject and requirements. I usually structure lessons around a short review, introduction of the topic, guided learning and questions/practice, followed by a summary of key points and areas to work on before the next lesson. I hold a PhD in Biotechnology and have several years of professional experience in biotechnology, molecular diagnostics, biosensors, R&D and quality management. My research background allows me to connect academic concepts with real-world scientific applications.
My lessons are suitable for secondary school students, A-level students, undergraduate students and postgraduate students, depending on the subject. I can teach Biology and Biotechnology fundamentals as well as more specialised topics such as molecular biology, genetics, PCR, diagnostics, biosensors and research methodology.
