About Ava
I am a recent graduate from one of the best universities in Canada, and have several years of experience in the field of education. I have worked with the Vancouver BC charity 'Writer's Exchange' for several seasons, helping youth ages 6-12 improve their reading skills through creative and innovative strategies. I also have worked as an english teacher to ESL kids and teens, an instructor in childrens' art camps, and as a gallery educator for children in a contemporary art gallery.

I approach teaching with a can-do attitude! I find that so much of improving a students understanding/proficiency in the language arts is confidence building, so I make a point of creating a safe learning environment where the pupil is comfortable asking questions. My strengths as a tutor are grammar, creative writing, literature studies, and fostering confidence in the language arts that can be translated into university level skills.
