About Carla

I am a student of Classic Philology at the Complutense University of Madrid. When I was 14 I fell in love with Latin, and since then I have participated in different competitions, such as the Ciceronian, learning from each experience. Classic philology allows me to have a deeper approach to the language, in addition to giving me the skills to analyze Latin to its origin and being able to explain it from scratch and have an answer to most of the questions that may occur to the language.

About the lesson

Languages have always been a tedious task, which many few manage to understand and others are satisfied with a passing grade achieved by memorizing. Latin, despite being a "dead language", must be treated as something alive to understand it. I am always focusing on the needs of the student, my goal is to revive the spark for learning based on readings, conversations, and didactic exercises.
The Latin classes are aimed at people new to the language, students up to grade 12, support for university's entrance exams, or anyone who wants to enter this fantastic, classical world.
Sticking to a general outline doesn't do much good, as each person needs support in different areas. However, the classes will work mainly on etymology, grammar and translation, although we will also practice vocabulary and even pronunciation.

Carla es muy buena profe, y ha ayudado mucho a mi hermano con sus clases de español. Tiene mucha paciencia y explica los conceptos de forma muy clara. Os la recomiendo mucho para aquellos que os veáis faltos de base al igual que para aquellos que necesites un refuerzo o ayuda para nuevos conceptos.

Conocí a Carla cuando buscaba ayuda para aprobar la EVAU de latín. En clase no me enteraba de nada y ella buscó distintas formas para explicarme las cosas hasta que las entendiese. Tiene mucha paciencia y siempre estaba dispuesta a ayudarme. Al final pasé del 5 raspado a un 8,75 en el examen de latín de EVAU.
