About Katrina

A little about me…

One of the biggest reasons I love tutoring is because I know what it feels like to struggle.

I wasn’t always the student people expected to achieve highly. Throughout my education, I had to figure out how I learn best. Over the years, I taught myself how to study effectively, develop the right mindset, and build habits that helped me succeed academically. That journey took me from GCSEs and A Levels to achieving a First-Class Psychology degree, a Distinction Master’s, and now working towards my long-term goal of a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

Because of my own experiences, I have a huge amount of empathy for students. I know how stressful exams can be, how overwhelming revision feels, and how easy it is to compare yourself to everyone else. I want every student to know that your current grades do not define your potential.

I firmly believe that mindset is one of the biggest predictors of success. Confidence, resilience and consistency are just as important as intelligence. That’s why I don’t just teach subjects. I coach students to believe in themselves, overcome setbacks and develop the habits that lead to long-term success.

I’m a big believer in studying smart, not just studying hard. There are so many revision techniques out there, but not all of them work. I’ll teach you evidence-based strategies that are efficient, effective and actually help information stick, so you spend less time feeling overwhelmed and more time making real progress.

I also see myself as more than just a tutor. I want to be a mentor who helps students grow in confidence, discover their strengths, and start thinking about the future they want to create. Whether that’s choosing A Levels, applying to university, writing a personal statement or exploring different career paths, I’m always happy to help.

These exams aren’t easy, and you don’t have to do them alone.

About the lesson

Hi, I'm Katrina!

With a First-Class Psychology degree and a Distinction MSc in Mental Health, I bring over six years of experience working with young people, including in NHS CAMHS. As an AQA A-Level Sociology Examiner, I know exactly what examiners are looking for.

Are you ready to master A-Level Psychology, Sociology, GCSE English, or university-level Psychology? My mission is to teach you how to earn top marks, not just memorize content. Together, we'll focus on:

- Knowledge: Mastering content inside out.
- Application: Confidently applying knowledge to scenarios.
- Evaluation: Crafting critical analysis for top-band answers.

I understand the stress of exams—I sat them myself in 2019. With ADHD, I know the challenges of revision and organization. I teach only effective, science-backed strategies to help you revise smarter, not harder.
