About Katie
"Coding became my full-time pursuit after 13 years working as a Python developer in Silicon Valley. I transitioned into teaching because I want to support beginners and career-switchers who are determined to see their projects through to completion. My technical foundation relies on 7 years of experience combined with an App Academy education and 5 years at a FAANG company.
Students often find my industry-grounded perspective helpful when navigating complex topics like JavaScript, algorithms, or database management. I handle HTML, CSS, Git, and C++ with a focus on practical application rather than abstract theory. Building a sustainable career in technology requires grit and clarity, which I strive to model for those who study alongside me."
