About Cullen
In arithmetic studies, the student needs to learn the number types of integers, fractions, and reals with the ability to use them in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and to be able to transform a word problem into a math problem that can be solved. In algebra, the concept of variables and function graphing is explained to help in solving more complex word problems. In Trig, the introduction of angles with 6 more special functions helps students solve even more geometric problems that geometry did not cover. Then later the introduction of exponents and roots help to complete the basic math that a student needs to master before college math.

I teach "why" a solution is correct and not just how to solve a problem. I make it clear that math is not like other subjects because many math topics build on what you have learned before. I want to help all students from grades 1 to 12 and to prepare them for college math and science.
