About Johana

I have been teaching for 7 years. I decided to be an English teacher because it was the subject I had the most trouble with in school. When I learned, I wanted to teach it by dispelling all the doubts that average students drag to very advanced levels because they never had a clear explanation. Since then, I have made sure my students understand everything they see in class. I take care of your interest in learning the language from your approach: for school, passing an exam or your job. I have had students with different goals and objectives, we strive together to achieve it and, I can say with great pride, that all my students end up speaking, reading and writing in English properly. I have taught in elementary, middle and high schools. Currently, I teach one-on-one or in small groups to maximize the learning of my students.

About the lesson

What is your way of learning? Initially, I am dedicated to understanding my student's learning. There are students who understand easily and prefer to simply practice. There are others who prefer methodologies much more. My way of teaching is: without rules. Learn from the logic of the language. I don't want you to learn a grammatical structure because no native speaker or Cambridge exams will ask you how the present perfect continuous is structured. I want you to understand it. That you know what it means. As for vocabulary, you will learn it as you learn it in real life: by practicing. In my class the only thing that is memorized are irregular verbs. One by one until you get a great variety. The rest, you will learn through the constant exercise that you will have with the language. For you to be able to speak and not just read, you will have tasks such as creating tutorials about simple things, selling a business idea in 20 seconds, a debate on topics of interest to you, short presentations where you exercise vocabulary seen in class, guess who games , etc. My goal is that, in the end, you do not have the slightest fear to speak. If you never understand listening, it is because your ear is not used to foreign accents. To do this, we will go from the simplest: understanding simple dictations, repeating complex words, to moving on to short conversations and reaching long interviews. You are simply going to learn English.
