About Glenn

I have been tutoring a while (10+ yrs). My academic background (MIT undergraduate/ Standard Graduate) has afforded me to be taught by some of the most intelligent teachers/professors I have ever met. It also taught me that just because one knows a subject does not mean they can teach it, meaning teachers/profs sometimes get mired in the approach and requirements of their station and that can, at times, lead to little wiggle room for a student that needs more time to truly understand a topic.
I have always had a knack for math and science, as such I have also seen many struggle with the concepts in those areas. Things being equal, I believe that most anyone can learn most any subject. Sadly, education today can sometimes be very inflexible or harsh when it comes to understanding STEM related fields especially for those that do not have a knack for said fields. I'd like to make a difference here and help where I can.
More about me, I'd like to think I am tech savvy, in addition to being aware/involved in the social media of today. I always try to stay ahead in the electronic or technology commercial industry trends. That also means that I am into gaming. Not only video (video/console/PC) but also traditional table top (board games, etc). I am a dog person at heart but I have had cats and other pets from time to time.

About the lesson

Method: Socratic approach to ascertain level, strength and weaknesses, primary objectives of student, strategize to leverage grades and information retention.
Typical Lesson Plan: Customized to student but can involve improving study habits, planning and acting to achieve daily to weekly goals, additional added problems/worksheets, diversification of approaches to solving given problems, homework and lesson review, test preparation, psychological understanding of difficulties and potential solutions, etc.
Unique Offering: Understanding approach from a mental and emotional side. Focus on utilizing efficiency and leveraging students strengths. I am here to help not hinder or force rote traditional methods. I have flexibility in addressing topic related courses and can offer odd or last minute reviews.
Tutoring Audience: High School or early college level students taking classes in most all levels of Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics. Standard, Honors, or AP level classes along with standardized test (SAT/ACT/etc) prep.
