About Kamiah

Hello! My name is Kamiah Perkins, and I am a passionate mathematics enthusiast currently studying A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics, with predicted A* grades in both. I plan to apply to Cambridge University to further pursue my love for mathematics.

My journey with math extends beyond personal study; I have a deep-seated passion for teaching and helping students on their own mathematical journeys. Working in a primary school and teaching students has shown me how fulfilling it is to inspire confidence and foster a love for a subject that I hold dear.

My background and experiences have shaped my approach to tutoring. I know firsthand the impact a great teacher can have. In secondary school, I thrived under an amazing math teacher, which fueled my desire to study the subject deeply. Conversely, my experience in primary school with less effective teaching initially hindered my progress, until a change in teaching approach reignited my passion for math. This personal experience drives my commitment to being the best tutor I can be.

I believe that every student has the potential to excel in mathematics with the right guidance and support. My goal is to help students build confidence, master fundamental concepts, and develop a genuine understanding and love for math. By identifying and addressing individual weaknesses, focusing on the basics, and fostering a logical approach to problem-solving, I aim to make math accessible and enjoyable.

With my strong academic background and dedication to teaching, I am here to support students aged 8-16 in their mathematical journey. Whether it’s preparing for GCSEs, SATs, or 11+ exams, or simply needing extra help with the primary and secondary education curriculum, I am committed to helping students achieve their full potential.

I achieved a 9 in GCSE Mathematics and am currently studying both Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A-level, with predicted grades of A* in both. This strong academic background equips me with the knowledge and skills necessary to tutor effectively, I Also have work experince teaching students.
