Rate: $18/hr
My lessons are personalized to each student’s level, learning style, and goals. I help students understand the underlying theory, the "why" or "how", so that they become more confident and independent in their math skills! I teach all grades from grade 1-12.
Qualifications
- IB Math AA SL: 7
- Calculus & Vectors (MCV4U): 100
- Advanced Functions (MHF4U): 100
- 4 years of volunteering experience as peer, elementary school, ESL Tutor
A typical lesson:
- Reviewing and answering questions surrounding confusion in class concepts, homework or tests
- Explanation of key concepts in the unit with diagrams, examples, adjusting methodologies when necessary
- Working through step-by-step problems together
- Point out common mistakes and alternate strategies if applicable
- Students can try some problems independently and we will take them up
- Send over some practice problems to try at home (if student has time)
