About Joshua
I've always been interested in the subjects of math and physics since middle school and from an early age I knew that I wanted to study these subjects because of how applicable they are to the world around us. As a student, I have come across my own fair share of stumbling blocks while trying to learn many of those fundamental concepts that I now apply so regularly that it has almost become instinct. I want to encourage students as they encounter their own stumbling blocks in these subjects by "walking beside" them in the tutoring sessions so that they can feel ready to conquer the next topic.

I would typically begin the session by asking if there are any questions in particular that the student wants to have worked through by the end of the session. If so, one of these would be used demonstrate a concept. If there are no initial questions that arise, but there are concerns about a general topic. I would look for, or come up with an example problem from common online resources. Then, would use at least three examples: one where I work through the problem by myself explaining the steps, a second where I work through and ask for student input, and a third in which the student works through while being guided by my input (I do, We do, You do approach).
Wherever possible, I would also try to incorporate or connect real life applications or examples, especially those relating to physics topics.
The lessons are primarily going to be geared towards students who are at least in middle school algebra classes and onwards. The physics lessons are also going to be for students of any grade level up to technical physics 1.
