About Ethan
I am a recent graduate of Southampton University with a Master's in Aerospace engineering. At A level I studied maths (A*), Further maths (A), Physics (A*) and Design and Technology (A*). When I was a House captain at my Grammar school, I supported younger years with homework during dedicated sessions. As a youth worker, I enjoy developing young people's curiosity and a love of learning. In my free time I enjoy playing the guitar and saxophone. I have also recently joined a badminton club.

As a tutor I am passionate about enabling students to understand concepts fundamentally, giving them the confidence to answer exam questions with fluency, rather than trying to memorise facts.
My lessons are based around practice questions. Initially we will work together to break the question down into its concepts, thus building a deep understanding of what is actually being asked. Then move on to working out the solution. My support will gradually reduce as the student's ability increases. Research shows that using the "I do, we do, you do" approach is highly effective in enabling students gain the skills and confidence to work through problems independently.
I tutor maths and further maths from Year 7 to A level. Sessions are usually 1 hour either in person or online.
