About Ayush
As a competitive player with a peak 2000 Elo chess rating, I have spent years mastering tactical calculations, endgame structures, and critical decision-making routines. My deep personal experience with the game allows me to break down complex positional concepts into simple, actionable steps that absolute beginners can easily comprehend. I specialize in mentoring school-aged children and junior players, focusing heavily on building emotional resilience and sharp logical thinking rather than tedious line memorization. Over my chess journey, I have developed structured, highly interactive digital training materials, including customized puzzle studies on Lichess, to keep young minds actively engaged. This combination of high-level chess expertise and a patient, gamified teaching methodology aligns perfectly with guiding young students from their very first moves to tournament readiness.

My teaching approach focuses on active, hands-on learning rather than passive lectures. As a competitive player with a peak 2000 Elo rating, I use my deep experience with the game to break down complex positional theories into simple, bite-sized concepts that absolute beginners and junior students can easily grasp. My methodology avoids boring, tedious line memorization; instead, I prioritize building strong safety routines, spatial awareness, and sharp logical thinking habits that students can apply to every single move.
Every standard lesson is structured as a 50 to 60-minute interactive session designed to maximize engagement and prevent cognitive overload:
The Warm-Up (5 Mins): A review of past concepts and a quick, fun tactical puzzle to wake up the brain.
Core Concept (15 Mins): A highly focused introduction to a single theme (like forks, pins, or opening principles) using interactive, shared digital demo boards.
Guided Calculation (15 Mins): Solving hand-picked, thematic puzzles together where students explain their thinking out loud to build accurate calculation habits.
Active Playing & Live Coaching (25 Mins): Real-time practice games against classmates or myself where I provide supportive, live commentary and catch blunders before they happen.
