About TATIA

I am a contemporary artist originally from Georgia, now based in East London, where I explore materials, painting, and installation. I have been creating since I was seven and have studied at various art colleges and institutions, most recently completing my MA in Fine Art at the University of East London. Alongside my physical practice, I have always been passionate about digital creation, particularly illustration, blending traditional artistic thinking with digital tools.

I am also an architect and designer, holding a BA in Architecture, Urban Planning, and Design, and have been working with digital programmes since I was sixteen. Over the years, I have developed strong expertise in Adobe software, especially Illustrator, which I first explored as a self-taught artist and later strengthened through a professional course and earning the Adobe Certified Professional in Graphic Design & Illustration Using Adobe Illustrator. My work is therefore a continual dialogue between hands-on creation and digital experimentation, which also informs my teaching approach with both practical insight and technical expertise.

I have worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of East London and have taught private students in Adobe Illustrator. I enjoy sharing knowledge and helping students progress from complete beginners to intermediate level, mastering essential tools and techniques, and ultimately creating their own professional portfolio. My classes combine theory, practical demonstration, and hands-on practice, fostering creativity, confidence, and independence, while providing guidance every step of the way.

I understand what it feels like to have many ideas in your head and a strong desire to create and bring them to life digitally. Today’s world offers so much information, and with self-discipline, it is possible to achieve a lot—but learning alone can also feel overwhelming and frustrating. Through my own journey, I’ve learned that the key is consistent practice with guidance. Having someone to support you, answer questions, and provide structure saves time, builds confidence, and helps you focus on creating the work you truly love.

About the lesson

My teaching approach combines clear theoretical explanations with practical, real-life examples. Each class lasts two hours and is held once a week. The first hour is dedicated to introducing new topics, where I explain concepts and demonstrate techniques in a practical, step-by-step manner. After a 10-minute break, the second hour allows students to work independently on classroom exercises using their own laptops. These exercises are directly related to the topic covered in the first part of the session, and I remain live and available to provide guidance, answer questions, and offer support as needed.

Between sessions, students are given homework assignments to reinforce learning and practise the skills introduced in class. Over the course, students will progress from complete beginners (level 0) to intermediate level, learning all the important Adobe Illustrator tools and techniques. By the end of the course, they will have the skills and confidence to create their own professional portfolio, ready to showcase their work. I also provide a detailed PDF covering all studied material so students can revise and practise independently. Hands-on practice, both in class and at home, is one of the most effective ways to build confidence and retain knowledge.

I welcome students aged 18 and above, from complete beginners to intermediate learners. I hold the Adobe Certified Professional in Graphic Design & Illustration Using Adobe Illustrator (since February 2024) and have already taught several private students. In addition, I am a visual artist with over 15 years of experience, alongside a background in architecture, design, and urban planning. Working with composition, creativity, and various software tools is therefore a natural and familiar part of my practice.
