About Lee
In my time as an adjunct lecturer of Composition at various community colleges, I pinpointed many of the mental blocks students have about English class. Many students feel that the practice of writing is maddeningly rigid, that they’ve been pigeonholed into (and graded on) a set of one-size-fits-all rules about how to write and what to write about. Conversely, many other students feel that writing is too open-ended, lacking a concrete formula to most potently convey a message.
My teaching philosophy is founded upon helping students overcome these mental blocks. I use my master's degree in Creative Writing to teach students to take an author's perspective when analyzing literature. I'm passionate about helping students unlock their fullest potential as writers, thinkers, and communicators.
