I am a California resident. I enjoy a good book, a good workout, and spending time with my wife and two boys. Professionally, teaching is my passion. Contextualized reading is often the most important way to engage literature. My lesson plans consist of diving into the author's background as well as any contemporary scholarship about the work we are reading. Additionally, discussions regarding genre and form are required. However, my teaching style is all about approachability. I want the student to be able to understand the work and relate it to their own interests and hobbies. For this reason, I need to know about the student's favorite music, movies, and pastimes.
