About
My background is public health, anthropology and art. I am very passionate about the role of science in our lives and sharing research and new developments with students. I am based in London and love hiking, scuba diving, gardening, theatre and art exhibitions.
I am passionate about science and empowering students to feel confident and engaged in their learning. I bring creativity and adaptability to my lessons and tailor them to each student's needs and interests to create both a strong foundation of knowledge but also an independent interest in the subject.
I embed both science content but also skills into my lessons, including opportunities for practical science and exam question application. This is to balance the need to see science in daily life and the world around us, with the need to translate this knowledge to academic performance. I have 10 years' experience across state and private schools in both Australia and the UK and am very happy to adapt to any particular needs of a student. I also speak French and Spanish and am experienced in supporting students with EAL and SEN needs.

Each lesson will involve a check in with the student and their current level of knowledge and confidence.
I will explain each concept using visuals, models and activities and then provide some quick questions to check for understanding.
We'd typically then apply this knowledge to exam style questions and correct these together.
We'd then look to link this knowledge into their wider understanding of the topic it subject, as well as the student's own interests or aspirations.
Each lesson also involves reflection on how the student understands their own study skills and ability to learn independently too, aiming to build their confidence to schedule and undertake their own study over time.
