About Charny
Honestly, I often start a guitar lesson by watching you play a favorite song just to hear how you approach the instrument. Building a strong foundation requires looking at your tuning, maintenance habits, and strumming patterns before we look at the harder stuff like lead guitar or reading sheet music. My 7 years of experience have taught me that if you do not understand the movement behind a chord transition, you will never feel comfortable playing it for someone else.
We will move through the mechanics of your acoustic playing and build up your confidence through repetition and theory. I make sure we spend enough time on the technical aspects so that you do not hit a wall later on when the music gets complicated. I prefer to keep the atmosphere relaxed while we work through these challenges at your own speed. It is really just about getting the work done one chord at a time.

So I have been gigging around the chanson circuit for 13 years. Being a self-taught musician from Montreal means I approach guitar as a way to tell a story rather than just reading notes on a page.
