About Jai

Hi, I'm Jai! Currently I am a university student studying Physics at the University of Warwick. I graduated from the International Baccalaureate with a 7 in Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL, and Physics HL. As both a student and a teacher, I am a big believer in systems and strategy. Over the years, I have seen many people try to improve at maths and physics through brute force, revising longer and harder. While I believe hard work is a prerequisite for any success in these subjects, it's the students that develop systems and strategies to revise more efficiently that excel. Throughout my life, I have enjoyed sharing my knowledge of mathematics and physics through a variety of means. I partook in the 2024 and 2025 Summer of Maths Exposition, creating explainer videos on the intuition behind complex numbers, and the progression of optimization. I also have released a documentary explaining the standard model of particle physics for the layman. About the lesson

Maths and physics are only challenging if you approach them incorrectly. As a tutor I specialize in teaching mathematics and physics for the International Baccalaureate but have also taught GCSE and A-Level students doing the Edexcel and OCR boards. I believe in a systematic approach to teaching. My philosophy is to reduce the psychological and physical "friction" that prevents students from practicing and reaching their full potential. I construct systems and help students plan their practice to ensure they don't just learn content but master it. Systems I have built for my students include: Detailed RAG sheets spanning the entire HL maths syllabus (for the IB) - This allowed the student to track their confidence and comfort with topics in preparation for the final exam Question of The Day system: For each student I post a challenging question every day based on what we are currently learning. Recorded lectures and notes - I provide synthesized notes for each topic, highlighting where students go wrong, I also provide recordings of our classes so they never forget the lessons learned! Well-crafted visual models for topics that students find most challenging. For mathematics students who previously hated topics like trigonometry, probability and statistics, and calculus went on to score well and in a few cases these topics became the student's strongest. A typical 60m lesson will follow this plan: - 15m reviewing doubts and questions - 35-40m learning new content - 5-10m planning student's practice
