About Karlos
Hi, my name is Karlos. I started out working jobs at places like McDonald’s, Best Buy, and Jack in the Box before moving into freelancing as a software developer and working as a licensed life insurance agent. Those experiences taught me resilience, communication, and the importance of connecting with people. Today, I’m focused on tutoring. I enjoy helping students break through learning obstacles, especially in subjects that often feel intimidating at first. My goal is to make concepts approachable, build confidence, and show students how to apply what they learn in meaningful ways. Outside of teaching, I enjoy riding motorcycles, reading, and programming.

I break complex concepts into clear, manageable steps and relating them to real-world applications. I emphasize active learning by allowing students to work through problems with me, explain their reasoning, and apply new knowledge in exercises. I use analogies and interactive examples to help students grasp abstract ideas.
A typical lesson plan includes a quick recap of the last session, introducing new topics with a clear explanation and simple example, working through problems together, providing feedback, and summarizing key takeaways.
I’m approachable and patient. My lessons are interactive and engaging. I encourage students to actively build their problem-solving.
My lessons are direct towards high school, college beginners, intermediate, and adult students that are studying math, philosophy, economics, or computer science.
