About Brett
My teaching methodology is centered around fostering creativity, problem-solving, and motivation, all while ensuring accountability and practical application. For piano, I use real-life examples and case studies from various genres to connect theory and practice. This approach helps students understand not just the mechanics of playing, but also how to express themselves creatively and emotionally through music. I encourage students to problem-solve as they work through challenging pieces, developing critical thinking skills that translate beyond the piano. Motivation is key in my lessons; I set clear, achievable goals and track progress to maintain a sense of accomplishment. By incorporating personalized assignments and encouraging self-reflection, I hold students accountable for their growth while creating a supportive environment where they feel confident and empowered. Beyond piano, I also apply this methodology to subjects such as music theory and composition, tailoring it to fit each student's learning style and goals.
