About Bessie

I am a passionate Biology tutor with 6 years of teaching experience across GCSE, A-Level, and university-level courses. My journey as a tutor has allowed me to develop effective methods for breaking down difficult scientific concepts into simple, understandable ideas.

I specialise in teaching key areas such as genetics, cell structure, physiology, biochemistry, and ecology. Over the years, I have learnt how to adapt my teaching strategies to suit different learning styles, ensuring that each student receives personalised support tailored to their needs.

My lessons focus not only on understanding content but also on applying knowledge effectively in exams. I guide students through past papers, mark schemes, and structured answer techniques so they can maximise their scores with confidence.

With 6 years of experience, I have supported many students in improving their grades and building strong academic foundations in Biology. I take pride in creating a positive and engaging learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and actively participate.

About the lesson

My Biology lessons are carefully structured to help students move from confusion to clarity and from average performance to academic excellence. I provide tutoring for GCSE, A-Level, and university Biology, focusing on deep understanding rather than surface-level memorisation.

Each session is customised to the student’s needs, ensuring that difficult topics such as DNA replication, enzyme activity, homeostasis, and evolution are explained in a clear and engaging way. I use diagrams, analogies, and step-by-step reasoning to make abstract concepts easier to grasp.

We also focus heavily on exam preparation. This includes breaking down mark schemes, practising past papers, and learning how to structure high-scoring answers. Students develop strong analytical skills and learn how to apply knowledge effectively under exam conditions.

My goal is to build both confidence and competence. I encourage active learning, regular review, and continuous improvement so students can achieve consistent progress and reach their full academic potential in Biology.
