About Ljubica

I am currently an A-Level student specialising in English Literature, and my experiences as a student have given me a unique perspective on the challenges of learning. I understand firsthand the struggles that traditional teaching methods may not always address, and this insight drives me to create personalised teaching approaches tailored to each student's individual needs. After all, no two people learn in exactly the same way! I firmly believe that reading is one of the most enjoyable and effective ways to enhance your English skills. By discussing literature, unpacking complex ideas, and exploring the deeper nuances of the English language, students can unlock not only better analytical abilities but also a newfound appreciation for the written word. Unfortunately, reading in school is often framed as a chore—when, in reality, it should be a source of inspiration and curiosity. That’s why my teaching approach places a strong emphasis on engaging with popular literature, as well as literature students study in school. By breaking down texts, exploring themes, and diving into discussions, I aim to make learning enjoyable and transformative. My goal is to help students grow their confidence, sharpen their analytical thinking, and develop a lifelong love for language and literature!

About the lesson

I offer tailored lessons exclusively for secondary school students studying the AQA English Literature or Language courses. Each session is designed to meet the unique needs of the individual, taking into account their ability, understanding, and preferred learning style—because no two students learn in the same way. My teaching methods are flexible and engaging, incorporating a variety of techniques to suit different learners. These can include: Fun and interactive quizzes Active recall exercises to reinforce memory Creative tools like drawings to visualise concepts Fill-in-the-blank activities for structured practice Lessons are typically an hour long and feature a dynamic mix of learning approaches. These may include focused information sessions, contextual discussions, skill-building exercises, exam practice, and even "walking-talking mocks" to build confidence and familiarity with exam formats. My goal is to make learning both effective and enjoyable, helping students develop their skills and achieve their potential in English.
