About Arya

Hello! I am a third-year medical student at King's College London and am originally from Dubai. I am absolutely thrilled to help guide you on your GCSE / A-level Biology journey. I scored an A* in Biology at A-level, so I'm well aware of the rigours of this dense subject from just a few years ago, and my goal now is to be the resource and sounding board I wish I had back then. I'm someone who becomes invested when they see potential in somebody, and that's what I'm looking for: resilient students with big dreams who are willing to collaborate with me to maximise their potential. And yes, it's a collaboration because I know how unique everyone's study methods are, and I need your help to allow us to figure out how to bring the best out of you :)

About the lesson

I'm looking for GCSE or A-level Biology students looking to achieve top grades! As someone who is a medical student at KCL and achieved an A* in Biology, I truly believe in the motto that the results are only as good as you have prepared. When it comes to high-stakes preparation, "doing a little but often" is the way to go. I'm open to doing 1 or 2-hour-long lessons, depending on what works best for my student and I. My teaching style blends time-tested techniques (e.g. flashcards and exam questions) with the unique, individual needs of each student. I recognise that one size certainly does not fit all, so I encourage students to be open to trying different methods while we optimise their strengths and constructively tackle their weaknesses. I like for students to be highly involved in actively directing our sessions and being vocal about exactly where they need help, ensuring we work as a team to conquer a common goal. Also, having recently experienced some "not-so-good" teaching myself with driving instructors, I truly realised how crucial the learning environment is. I aim to ensure every single student feels deeply heard. This approachable atmosphere means you can be comfortable in making mistakes - because mistakes made with the right intention just provide valuable data showing us exactly what works and what doesn't - for you. Therefore, I am looking for determined students who are ready to give their absolute best effort, work with me as a team, and turn their Biology dreams into reality!
