About Sumedha
As an NYU student and professional journalist with five years of editorial experience, I bring a unique, results-driven perspective to college admissions essay coaching. I believe that the most successful personal statements are those that balance creative, resonant storytelling with the clear, concise analysis required by top-tier universities.
Throughout my career in journalism, I have specialized in structured interviewing and narrative storytelling. These skills are directly transferable to the college application process. I know exactly what it takes to draw out the most evocative elements of a student's experience and translate them into a persuasive narrative essay.
My goal is not just to help you finish your admissions essay, but to empower you as a writer.
Writing a standout personal statement can be daunting. As a professional journalist and NYU student, I help students write compelling admissions essays that admissions officers will remember.

My Approach:
I teach you the logic behind excellent writing across narrative and analytical styles. I help you identify your most resonant personal stories and refine them into clear, concise, and authentic essays that reflect who you are.
Why work with me?
Journalist-Grade Storytelling: I use the same narrative techniques I’ve developed over five years of reporting and interviewing to help you 'show, not tell.'
Structured Success: I break down the Common App and supplemental essay prompts into manageable steps, eliminating the stress of the writing process.
NYU Experience: I provide an insider’s look at what top-tier universities are looking for in an admissions essay.
What We Will Achieve:
Whether you need help brainstorming a topic, developing a strong thesis, or conducting a final polish for your college application, I am here to guide you. Together, we will build an essay that stands out in a competitive admissions cycle.

Sumedha has helped me with various aspects of school. Though she has a varying skill set she has helped a lot with my writing skills. From analyzing to knowing how best to write the essay. She helped with my DBQs, write my best performing speeches, debate cases, and getting prepared for intimidating in class essays. There has only been an upward trend since and I feel much more confident in my writing abilities since and am able to reach a “writers flow”.
