About Mpho

My name is Mabala Mpho, I am an Accounting Sciences student at the University of Pretoria. I aspire to become a Chattered Accountant (CA) at the end of my journey. I have been a Maths tutor for grade 11 and grade 12 for the past 3 years and have helped a lot of students achieve the marks that they want to get to the university level. I have been a top student in Mathematics all my schooling life and have received many awards for my performances hence I decided to become a tutor and help those in needby making maths seem a bit more simpler than it actually is for learners to be able to pass it with flying colours!

About the lesson

As a private tutor, my approach is centered around personalization, adaptability, and fostering a deep understanding of the subject matter. I believe in creating a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as this is crucial for true learning. My methodology is tailored to the individual needs of each student. I emphasize conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization, using real-life examples to make abstract concepts more relatable. What makes me unique as a teacher is my ability to connect with students on their level, breaking down complex ideas into manageable pieces and encouraging critical thinking. I use a variety of teaching techniques, including problem-based learning, interactive discussions, and hands-on activities, to ensure that students are engaged and actively participating in their learning process. I am proficient in English and can conduct lessons fluently in this language. This allows me to reach a diverse group of students. My lessons are aimed at high school students, particularly those who need support in mathematics. Whether a student is struggling with the basics or looking to excel in advanced topics, I can adapt my lessons to meet their specific needs. I also cater to students preparing for standardized tests or needing extra help with specific math-related topics. My goal is to help each student build confidence and achieve their academic goals.
