About Nicole
I hold an Associates degree in arts with concentration in vocal performance with many additional hours of coursework conpleted beyond that degree in music and education. I've spent over 15 years personally as a vocal sstudent. Ive led many church and community choral groups and tutored privately. Mainly I focus on children and youth and beginning adults. I can train for any vocal part but have a preference for female voices in any range. I have won numerous awards and participated in local and regional competitions and productions by musical groups and theaters as well as invitations to perform solo. I love bringing out confidence and ease in a singer and empowering them to use their voice to tell stories, convey feelings and inspire others through music. I also sincerely believe in the importance of music education early and for all, as studies show us just how valuable a musical education is to people of all ages and walks of life. It opens up worlds of possibilities within a person and far beyond. What a gift it has been in my life to be able to gift it to others!

The approach I take is very individual based on the student's needs and desired outcomes. I can use a predetermined curriculum or one of my own choosing or we can work together to adapt a lesson plan and schedule to best suit your wishes. Typically the first lesson or two I spend assessing the students level of understanding and experience and then working out a customized set of goals and benchmarks to work towards meeting those goals. "Homework" or study on their own between lessons is an integral part of any good educational track and so the student can expect to have activities such as practice times and/or bookwork assigned and expected to be completed to a satisfactory degree by the next lesson so we can continue on pace. I like to make lessons fun, stress-free, encouraging, but also challenging enough to promote growth.
