About Shaina Julia

Hello, my name is Shaina, I'm 19 and I am currently a student. My interest in teaching comes from my own experience as a student. Throughout my education, I have encountered both excellent teachers and other teachers whose teaching methods simply did not work for me. It wasn’t that they were bad teachers, it's just that their approach didn’t always help me truly understand the subject. Because of this, I had to teach myself plenty of concepts throughout my school years because I realized I learned best when I fully understand something rather than simply memorizing stuff. Slowly, I started helping kids in my locality with their studies, and seeing them improve in their studies made me realize how much I genuinely enjoy teaching.
I have learned from both being a student and teaching is that every student is different. Some students grasp concepts quickly, while others need more time, attention, and a different way of explanation. One of my strengths as a tutor is my ability to adapt to different learners and communicate concepts in a way that makes students feel comfortable and confident.
I wish I had a teacher whom I could rely on back in my school days, but now that I have grown up. I wish I can be the teacher that I needed as a student and help another fellow student grow academically.

About the lesson

I believe that every student is capable of learning. The difference lies in the pace and style of learning, which varies from student to student. My teaching approach focuses on adapting to a student's needs and their pace of learning so that they can understand concepts comfortably and confidently.
I also aim to create a safe learning environment where students will not feel embarrassed asking questions and expressing their thoughts, no doubt is too small or insignificant and I hope to build that trust and make them ask questions without the fear of judgment. When a student feels comfortable, they participate more actively and develop greater confidence in their learning.
About my class structure, I start with a recap of the previous lesson. I briefly summarize the topic covered earlier and ask the student whether they have grasped the concept clearly. This also gives them the opportunity to clarify doubts or review any homework from the previous session. Then, I will begin with the concept of the day. During the lesson, I encourage active participation so that the student is not just listening but also engaging with the concept through questions, explanations, and discussion. My goal is to make the class interactive rather than simply lecturing.
One of my strengths as a teacher is my ability to adapt my teaching style to suit the student’s learning pace and comfort level. I focus on clear communication and patient explanation so that the student feels supported throughout the learning process.
My classes are intended for School Children from Grade 4th to Grade 10th
