About Anuraag

I achieved 11 Grade 9s at GCSE and now study A-Levels in History, Economics, Mathematics and Religious Studies. I’m aiming to study Politics and Economics at university. Outside academics, I love reading, watching films, and playing sports, which keep me curious, balanced and active. I’m organised, motivated, and enjoy challenging myself both in and out of the classroom.

About the lesson

I focus on building strong foundations in verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, maths, and English, using a method that is structured, calm, and highly personalised. My approach is based on:

- Breaking down complex questions into simple, repeatable steps

- Modelling techniques before gradually shifting responsibility to the student

- Exam-style practice to build familiarity and reduce anxiety

- Targeted feedback so students know exactly what to improve

- Positive reinforcement to build confidence and resilience

I teach in a way that encourages students to think aloud, explain their reasoning, and develop the habits that selective-school exams reward.

Lesson Structure & Typical Length
Most lessons are 60 minutes, as this is the ideal length for maintaining focus while covering a full set of skills.
For younger students or those who benefit from shorter sessions, I also offer 45-minute lessons.

A typical lesson includes:

- A short warm-up to activate key skills

- Teaching or revising a specific technique

- Guided practice with exam-style questions

- Independent timed questions

- Feedback and next steps

- Experienced in supporting 11+ preparation, including grammar-school entrance exams and independent-school assessments

- Strong academic background with a clear, structured communication style

- Proven ability to help students improve accuracy, speed, and exam confidence

- Experience working with younger students in leadership and mentoring roles
