About Aubyn

Feeling overwhelmed by school? I work with college and university students—especially those with ADHD and learning differences—to build clear systems for time management, studying, and academic confidence.

*Who I Work With*:
I support college and university students who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or frustrated by school — especially those with ADHD, learning disabilities, and other unique learning needs.

*Many of my students are*:
- Falling behind in their courses
- Struggling to keep up with deadlines and workload
- Feeling stressed about grades or academic standing
- Working hard but not seeing results

*How I Help*
My approach goes beyond traditional tutoring. I help students build the skills they need to function successfully as independent learners, not just complete one assignment at a time.

*We focus on*:

1. Executive functioning skills, including:
- Time management, planning, and prioritization
- Task initiation and follow-through
- Staying organized and on top of deadlines

2. Academic skills, such as:
- Learning how to study more effectively (not just longer)
- Reading strategies for comprehension
- Writing with structure and focus
- Note-taking systems that actually work

*Why Work With Me*
- Master’s in Professional Education (Teaching Students with Exceptionalities) - specialized training in how students with learning differences learn best
- Registered Social Worker (RSW) - sessions may be eligible for coverage through extended health benefit plans in Ontario
- Research-based methods that drive results — my coaching is grounded in research-backed strategies that support real, sustainable improvement.
- Over five years of experience helping students

Cut through the overwhelm and get results with expert guidance!

The Big Picture

Lessons begin by looking at the whole academic picture, not just what’s due this week. Many students come to coaching when their performance isn’t reflecting their ability — whether they’re falling behind, struggling to keep up, or concerned about their academic standing and future opportunities.

Together, we clarify:

Long-term academic and career goals

Strengths and skill gaps in executive functioning and academic skills

Learning barriers and academic context, such as course demands, workload, and individual learning needs

This creates a personalized, goal-driven plan focused on helping students translate their potential into consistent academic results.

What a Typical Session Looks Like

Each session follows a structured but flexible format designed to build awareness, skill, and independence:

Reflection & review
We start by looking at what worked — and what didn’t — since the last session. Together, we identify why certain strategies helped or fell short, and adjust skills and systems to better fit the student’s learning style and academic demands.

Skill development in context
We focus on strengthening key executive functioning and academic skills, including:

Planning, prioritization, and time management

Task initiation and follow-through

Reading, writing, and note-taking strategies

Studying and exam preparation methods

Looking ahead
We map out upcoming deadlines, assessments, and workload, then refine strategies in advance so students are prepared for the weeks ahead.

Clear next steps
Students leave with a practical, realistic plan for what to work on, how to approach it, and which strategies to use.

How This Supports Long-Term Success

The focus is on building systems, habits, and thinking strategies that carry across courses and semesters — helping students protect their academic standing, maintain future opportunities, and develop the skills needed for independent, sustained success.
