About Robert
I am a teacher of academic English and English as a foreign language, with over ten years’ experience teaching in the UK and globally at language schools and universities.
I have certificate and diploma qualifications in teaching, and a BA and MA in linguistics and I am currently a doctoral student at the University of Portsmouth.
I have a wide range of experience teaching academic English, exam preparation for IELTS, more general English and conversation. I have worked with students from around the world, and I am familiar with the needs of speakers of languages such as Chinese, Arabic and Spanish just to name a few.
I plan lessons and courses meticulously and will work carefully with you to help you achieve your goals in English.

I will work together with you to carry out a detailed needs analysis and discuss your background and your aspirations with English.
Working together, I will help to develop your skills in whatever area of English you want to develop in. That could be anything from helping you to understand challenging academic texts at university to being more confident speaking fluently in social settings.
I will prepare engaging and interesting lessons which you will both enjoy and learn from and see progress in your English language skills.
