About Abby
I am a dedicated and academically accomplished English tutor with a First Class Honours degree and an International Baccalaureate diploma, including Higher Level English. Having navigated rigorous academic environments myself, I understand both the challenges students face and the standards required for success.
With experience as a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, I have supported students at different stages of their educational journey, from developing foundational literacy skills to refining advanced essay writing and critical analysis. I take a structured, methodical approach to teaching, tailoring each lesson to the individual student’s needs while maintaining high academic expectations.
My aim is to build confidence, strengthen technical skills, and help students communicate their ideas clearly and effectively in both coursework and examinations.

My approach is supportive, structured, and tailored to each student. I focus on building strong foundations in reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar, before developing higher-level skills such as critical analysis and essay structure. Lessons are interactive and discussion-based, encouraging students to think independently and articulate their ideas with confidence. I break down complex tasks into manageable steps and provide clear frameworks, particularly helpful for IB-style assessments and structured writing.

Lessons typically run between 45 minutes and one hour, depending on the student’s age, focus level, and academic needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
I hold a First Class Honours degree and completed the International Baccalaureate, taking Higher Level English and Higher Level Fine Arts. I have experience as a Teaching Assistant in a Year 2 classroom, where I supported literacy development, reading confidence, and classroom engagement.
Who Lessons Are For:
I teach primary students, IB MYP students, and secondary-level learners. I am particularly well suited to students preparing for structured curricula such as the IB, as well as younger pupils developing core reading and writing skills.
