Hi! I’m Lauren, a middle school English teacher who is focused on helping students finally understand what they’re reading. My lessons mix short mini-lessons, guided practice, and real application so students immediately use what they learn instead of just listening.
A typical session starts with a quick skill focus (like finding evidence, understanding vocabulary, or organizing writing), followed by modeling, practice together, and independent work with feedback. I use sentence stems, structured notes, and clear strategies that help students know exactly what to do when they face a question on their own.
I specialize in reading comprehension, writing development, and test preparation for K-12 students, including struggling readers, reluctant writers, and students needing confidence. What sets me apart is I don’t just help students finish assignments, I teach repeatable thinking strategies they can use in any class.
