About Neerja

Hi! I’m Neerja—a dedicated tutor with a passion for both the physical sciences and the creative world of visual art. I love exploring how things work, whether it’s through solving equations or creating expressive, meaningful artwork. My background includes participating in several math contests, tutoring students up to Grade 10, and leading educational outreach seminars—experiences that have sharpened both my academic and communication skills. As a visual and hands-on learner myself, I know how powerful it can be when a concept finally clicks. That’s why I focus on breaking down material using real-life examples, relatable analogies, and visuals that make learning engaging and memorable. I build customized lesson plans based on each student’s needs and learning style, so they always feel supported and confident. Outside of tutoring, I spend my time painting, illustrating, and working on personal art projects that keep me creative and grounded. I bring that same creativity and patience into every tutoring session—helping students not only succeed, but truly enjoy the learning process.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology centers on making complex concepts feel intuitive and approachable. I tailor each lesson plan in advance based on the specific needs of the student, ensuring that every session is focused, relevant, and goal-oriented. I break down topics using real-life examples and analogies, helping students not only understand the material but truly connect with it. A typical lesson begins with a quick review to assess understanding, followed by a targeted breakdown of key concepts using visual aids or relatable scenarios. We then move into guided practice, where students apply what they've learned, and finish with a recap and clear action steps for next time. What sets me apart is my ability to communicate in ways that resonate with young learners. With one year of tutoring experience and a strong background in youth engagement through outreach clubs and astronomy seminars (including with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada), I bring both structure and empathy to each session. These lessons are ideal for students from elementary to Grade 10 who need support in science, math, or general academic confidence-building.
