About Matt

I enjoy finding the strengths each student has and using them to make the best out of an audition.

With twenty-five years of experience as a professional actor in TV and film, I feel I can give just the right amount of assistance to actors who need to be pointed in the right direction. I excell at finding the clearest way to express the meaning in a line or a look.

I'm also a stand-up comedian. So if a comedic approach is what's needed for an audition, I am def you're guy!

I have a B.F.A. in Acting from the Theatre School at DePaul University.

About the lesson

I work on specific scenes with the student, usually ones for an audition. I read it through with them, and provide them with an extra set of eyes and ears to notice things they may not ordinarily. I run the scene with them a few different times and ways so they can be prepared for whatever tone may come at them at the audition itself. If they're new to auditioning, I give them a clear idea of what it will probably be like in the room: size of the space, how many people may be present, vibe of the casting directors, etc.
