About Mo

It is a commonly held belief that proficiency in a particular field is acquired by investing time and efforts. Even though, I do agree to an extent with this concept, but having the interest and curiosity to transgress boundaries and explore the horizons is the basic prerequisite to achieve milestones.

From a very early age, I’ve found it rather enjoyable to study Math as opposed to perceiving it as an academic burden. It was not because I scored well in the subject or math was my innate skill, but rather my fascination for exploring and solving challenging math problems that made it interesting to learn. I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Houston.

Thereafter, I pursed my MS in Statistics and Data Analysis from the same university. My academic journey has developed my teaching skills by redefining my thought process from a student’s perspective. It has made me realize that it is imperative for me to deliver my lectures not only in a clear and detailed manner, but also in a way that the students find it interesting and comfortable to actively participate in their learning process. Therefore, I plan a lecture and improvise it accordingly with the capability of the student to cope with topic. To create a healthy, conductive and a pleasant learning environment, I strongly encourage and push my students to ask questions and actively participate in topic discussion. Furthermore, I frequently provide practical examples to supplement the didactic component of my lecture.

I have almost ten years of experience teaching Mathematics and related subjects. This includes, but isn’t limited to lecturing a class of 50-60 students, private tutoring sessions to groups ranging between 5-20 students and one to one private tutoring sessions.

I prioritize my students above everything, and my ultimate goal is to equip them with the confidence, skills and knowledge which will help them accomplish their goals. I am highly receptive towards feedback and criticism from students and parents which helps me strive to improve as a tutor. I am easy to reach and will provide a prompt response to any queries.
