About Ethan
I'm an avid board game player, a musician and theatre performer outside of my degree. Within what I study, I have a particular interest in Quantum Computing and Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, where researchers have been exploring the continual improvement of semiconductor technologies and pushing the limit of what we can achieve. I have a passion for sharing knowledge with others and I love seeing that spark of curiosity in the people I support. I like to feed this curiosity in those who ask questions, always trying to go the step beyond the scope of what they've asked and show them what awaits them in further study. My love for maths and physics is very dear to me and so to share that with others is something I consider so special.

Previously a volunteer tutor for after school consultation in IT and maths-based topics, I believe in offering a variety of ways to grasp difficult ideas to students struggling with new and unfamiliar concepts. In the past, this has consisted of teaching by analogy, theory reinforcement, as well as examples and guided applications. I offer weekly one-hour sessions for any high school student following a VCE pathway. In terms of VCE subjects, I'm happy to support students who study Mathematical Methods 1-4, Specialist Mathematics 1-4, Physics 1-4 and Software Development 1-4 (specifically in the Python programming language). I'm looking to take on 2-4 students; the specifics of time and day of the week are something we can negotiate together :)
