About Malak

I enjoy teaching because I genuinely find it rewarding to help students build confidence and finally understand topics they once found difficult. Science can often feel overwhelming, so I aim to simplify complex concepts into clear and approachable explanations tailored to each student’s learning style. Teaching is also a very important part of medicine, whether it is educating patients, supporting colleagues or mentoring future students, and I value the communication and patience that come with it.

I strongly believe that learning is lifelong, and tutoring is not only an opportunity for me to help students succeed academically, but also a chance for me to continue learning through the curiosity and questions that students bring to each lesson. My goal is to create supportive, engaging lessons that encourage confidence, understanding and genuine interest in science.

About the lesson

3rd year medical student at Queen’s University Belfast. I also hold a Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmaceutical Studies from Cardiff University. I achieved all A* grades in GCSE Sciences and Maths, and A*, A, A, A in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths at A-levels
I am a peer mentor for 1st year medical students and have delivered teaching sessions through university societies. I have also supported my younger brother throughout his GCSE studies over the past two years, which has helped me become very familiar with the current GCSE curriculum and exam techniques.
I teach GCSE sciences and A-level Biology and Chemistry. My teaching approach focuses on understanding the topic first, then using flashcards, active recall and past paper questions, which are the techniques that helped me achieve top grades myself. Lessons are usually 1 hour long, with availability of up to 5 hours per week. I currently live in Cardiff and mainly offer online tutoring, as I believe it is more efficient and flexible for students.
