About Anna

Hi, I'm Anna. I started tutoring in 2021, during this time I have tutored biology, chemistry, physics and maths for a range of students from KS2 to A level.
I used to tutor 1-1 and I found this beneficial as I can give the student 100% attention. I have also tutored in small groups and I find this good as there is a collaborative environment and we can brainstorm topics and questions together - it depends on your learning style, I am flexible. One of the most important things I ensure when tutoring is that it is a positive, fun working environment and that you enjoy the tutoring sessions (despite doing hard work), I find that this achieves better results than a strict environment.
In the past, I have had a tutor and been a tutor so I understand how both sides work and how to make the tutoring experience the best it can be. I understand that the tutoring session is for you and I customise the content to your learning style to keep you engaged, whether that is using pictures, writing or talking.
I am currently a 3rd year medical student so I am still using my science and maths knowledge and I understand the hard work and effort it takes to get good grades but I am willing to try my very best to help you achieve the grades you are hoping to achieve.

About the lesson

I am friendly and patient. In a science tutoring session usually I will start by explaining the theory about the topic, customising my explanation to the tutee's learning style (for example with pictures, writing and talking). After this I will do an example question. Then the student and I work together answering exam style questions, the student talks through what they are doing and why to check understanding. The lessons are 1 hour long. I teach ages 7-18 from KS2 to A level.
