About Lauren

My name is Lauren, and I am currently a junior at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) studying mathematical economics and entrepreneurship. I am tutoring in mathematics (elementary/middle), English Language Arts, and college essay help.

Math- Throughout my primary education, I studied many advanced topics beyond introductory calculus and in university, I have continued to refine that knowledge in multivariable calculus, coding languages, and economic applications.

Since being involved with post-calculus topics for many years, I have realized my passion for teaching and communicating and am excited to tutor elementary and middle school students in a diverse array of topics including whole numbers, fractions/mixed numbers, ratios, proportions, inequalities, equation solving, and graphing.

English- I have been a fashion journalist for several university publications (Forward, FASTatUCLA) and have written popular content for Los Angeles readers. I am a proficient, passionate reader and writer that has consistently received school-wide awards for English Language Arts.

I would love to offer another set of eyes for K-12 essays through grammatical and structure editing, and topic brainstorming help if needed.

College applications- Through strong writing skills and creative ideation, I am confident in my college essay writing abilities as I personally was able to use those skills to be accepted into UCLA, University of Southern California (USC), Boston College, Villanova, NYU, University of Wisconsin, and more. I am willing to offer perspective, advice, and proofreading/essay help to high school students based on my own journey applying and writing for those schools.

About the lesson

As a lifelong tutor to my peers, even in high school, I have always been passionate about mathematics and giving back to others through assistance. It can be so frustrating to be doing homework without a teacher or friend by your side to help- that's why I'm here!

In each Zoom session, I am willing to answer any current questions on a student's homework or happy to teach a new concept entirely that they might have missed on a vacation or day off.

Willing to negotiate price per Zoom session as I am happy to help elementary and middle school students succeed!

Knowledgeable and advanced skillset in K-12 Mathematics Common Core standards, and English writing, proofreading, and grammatical knowledge.
