My typical lessons consist of:
1. An intro to see where the student is at
2. I teach the student
3. We do some work together
3. The student does some work on their own and I assist if needed.
An example of this would be I teach the student how to complete some math problems. Then we try to do some together and lastly, the student tries to complete a few math problems on their own.

Stevie was so good with my kids, she was so patient with them which is a really important trait for tutors. And she truly made a difference with kids they were a behind in their reading comprehension and now after some tutoring with Stevie they're now fully caught up on they're reading comprehension. And they are now on track to being ahead.
I think that you should give students praise for what they do. If they don’t do well on their work, let them know how they can improve. Make sure that they are confident in the work they are submitting, and if it does not look confident, let them redo or fix it.
