About Romans
I am a computer science and maths enthusiast about to start my 3rd year at the University of Manchester. I enjoy sharing my love for these subjects and aim to remove people's hatred for them!
Qualifications

- In Year 12, came back to my secondary school to mentor students (1 year)
- In Year 13, hosted a programming club at my secondary school and taught students Python using BBC micro:bit (1 year)
- Tutored 2 students privately (kids of colleagues) for 3 months
- Tutored 2 students as part of Coronavirus Tutoring Initiative (6 months)
- My A-Level subjects were Maths (A*), Computer Science (A) and History (A).
- My current predicted grade in university is a First, having achieved a First in my 1st and 2nd year (89% and 90% respectively).

I believe a lot of practice is of the upmost importance - the more problems you encounter, the easier it will become to find patterns in other similar problems and solve them.
Therefore, I prefer to teach maths by giving a student several normal-difficulty problems at first, and make sure they understand in depth HOW to solve them, and more importantly WHY the method to solve them works. Afterwards, I will present them with a challenging version of the problem, where potentially outside-of-the-box thinking is needed, and guide them through it.
