About Yasmin

I'm currently a second-year medical student at the University of Edinburgh, but my educational journey began in Dubai, where I spent most of my school years. Having lived in over five countries, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for different cultures—and a love for travel! Maths has always been one of my greatest passions. In fact, I once considered studying it at university before discovering my fascination with the art and science of medicine. Even now, I still find joy in exploring mathematical problems and helping others see the subject in a new light. What I enjoy most is helping students gain confidence in Maths, and showing them that there’s always a way to approach a problem that makes sense for them. Whether you're a numbers person or someone who’s never quite clicked with Maths, I’ll work with you to find the method that fits your thinking.

About the lesson

As a kind, patient, and understanding tutor, I am committed to helping every student learn in a way that suits their individual needs and learning style. I believe no two students are the same, so I tailor each lesson to support their pace, strengths, and areas for improvement. Whether a student is a visual learner, prefers step-by-step explanations, or thrives with practice-based learning, I adapt my teaching to match their style. Each lesson typically lasts one hour, and is structured to be engaging, focused, and productive. I break down complex mathematical concepts into manageable steps, ensuring full understanding before moving on. Lessons include guided practice questions, detailed explanations, and model answers so students feel confident applying what they’ve learned on their own. I have extensive tutoring experience, including my current role at Medefine, and have supported students in both one-on-one and group settings. I’ve previously tutored KS3 and GCSE Maths, and I’m familiar with a wide range of exam boards and question formats. In terms of qualifications: - Grade 9 in GCSE Maths - A* in GCSE Further Maths - A* in A-Level Maths, with 85%+ in every paper My lessons are ideal for: KS3, GCSE, and A-Level Maths students, students preparing for exams or needing ongoing support Learners of all abilities who want a supportive, encouraging, and effective tutor If you're looking for someone who genuinely cares about helping students succeed—and explains maths in a clear, approachable way - I’d love to help!
