About Stephanie
I'm a year 2 BA Geography student at Durham University and, having spent most of my life so far in education, I have vital experience for tutoring.
I have been learning French for 8 years and I am on track to reach a C1 (fluency) by the end of this academic year. I have previously tutored students in GCSE French and I am really looking forward to restarting this, as I find it extremely rewarding. Learning languages gives you essential skills for life, creates self-confidence and opens up so many opportunities.
I'm a very passionate and patient teacher and I will aim to make all my lessons fun and engaging! Education should be fun, and I am a firm believer that learning is easier in a supportive and entertaining environment.

My French lessons focus on each key skill within French - speaking, reading, listening and writing - so each session will include a combination of these elements. Application and elaboration on knowledge are vital to encourage deep learning and therefore my lessons will incorporate this principle, as well as encouraging an understanding of French culture.
My Geography lessons will use a variety of methods tailored to the student - visual, physical etc. - to adapt to their learning style. I always aim for them to be fun and memorable, as this is one of the reasons I chose to do a Geography degree.
I can also offer GCSE Maths and GCSE English Literature or Language lessons! In Maths, we'll use a mix of practice questions and worksheets to practice difficult methods and establish strong foundations. Similarly in English, we'll be breaking down practice questions and focusing on developing important skills that are critical for the GCSE.
