About James

I am a disciplined, diligent 1st Year University Student Currently at The University of Bath. I achieved a 9 in GCSE Maths at Barking Abbey School in London with 3 other 9s and 4 8s in my exams. I then went on to achieve all As and A*s at Westcliff High School in Southend whilst also tutoring a year 11 and year 9 in Mathematics to help them both reach the grades they needed and wanted. Furthermore, I have experience with young children as I was a scout young leader for a cubs pack (children aged between 8-11) teaching them valuable life skills. With the interactive whiteboard and the technological skill I provide, I believe that my adaptive teaching technique will work for all different types of students. Through my own struggle as a student during my GCSE's and A Levels, I will be able to help students on an academic level but also reassure students with exams by helping them with exam techniques and skills throughout the tuition sessions to ensure they exceed in their exams.

About the lesson

Having achieved A* in A level Maths and As in A Level Further Maths, Computer Science and Economics, I found the best way to learn Mathematics was through practice and also visual representation ofhow to answer questions. This is why in these hour long online lessons, I will explain practically how to answer all questions for GCSE and A Level Mathematics students. I will use interactive online whiteboards as well as visualisation techniques to make my students understand the concepts they are learning and be able to apply them. Having tutored GCSE and A Level Mathematics students at my school, I have experince in the profession and I am always open to changing my teaching style for every students as I know everyone learns differently. I believe my experience in tutoring as well as my knowledge of the A Level and GCSE, will help students I tutor thrive in their academic studies.
