About Tharindu
About Me & My Qualifications
Hi. I am a University of Auckland graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honors and a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Economics and Finance. I've also passed the UMAT exam and scored in the 94th percentile in the Bloomberg Aptitude Test.
I achieved predominantly Excellence grades in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry at school.
Beyond my academic background, I bring 15 years of professional experience as a senior consultant, covering business process analysis, CRM system design, data migration, programming, web development, complex Excel modeling, and reporting.
I also have a deep interest in logic and the practical application of philosophy to live a fulfilling life.

My Teaching Approach & Methodology
I believe true understanding comes from breaking down complex concepts into logical, intuitive building blocks. I teach you how to think critically, structure problems efficiently, and apply knowledge practically.
* Connect abstract formulas and theories to real-world engineering, financial, and business scenarios.
* Learn to both pass exams and apply your knowledge in practice. Gain an intuition for problems so that you don't have to mindlessly memorize.
Typical Lesson Structure & Length
* Duration: Standard lessons are typically 1 hour, though 1.5 or 2-hour sessions can be arranged as necessary.
* Format: We will start by reviewing any problem areas or homework, work through core concepts with targeted examples, and finish with a clear action plan or practice problems for next time.
