About Johan

I first started tutoring by helping my little brother with math, and I found that I really enjoyed breaking down difficult concepts and helping someone understand them. Seeing his confidence improve as he learned new skills showed me how rewarding teaching can be.
I believe a good tutor should be patient, approachable, and able to explain concepts in different ways until the student finds what works best for them. I focus on creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel free to ask questions, make mistakes, and improve at their own pace.
My goal is to help students build strong foundations, develop better problem-solving skills, and become more confident in math. Whether you need help with homework, preparing for a test, or understanding a challenging topic, I am here to provide clear guidance and support.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on making math simple, understandable, and less intimidating by breaking down complex concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations. I believe students learn best when they understand the reasoning behind each method instead of just memorizing formulas.
A typical lesson begins by identifying the student’s strengths and areas of difficulty. We then review important concepts, work through examples together, and practice problems with guidance until the student feels confident solving them independently. I adjust my teaching style based on each student’s learning pace and needs.
As a 1500 SAT scorer and engineering student, I bring a strong mathematical foundation and experience applying problem-solving skills to real-world situations. What sets me apart is my patience, ability to explain concepts in different ways, and focus on helping students build long-term confidence in math.
My lessons are designed for students in middle school, high school, and early college levels who need support with arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, SAT math preparation, homework help, or strengthening their overall math skills.
