About Serena
I am a Computer Programming tutor with 6 years of teaching experience, working with students of all levels. I have successfully taught around 150 students, helping them build strong coding skills and confidence.
I teach programming fundamentals, Java, C, SQL, data structures, algorithms, and basic web development. I support students with exam preparation, assignments, projects, and interview practice. My lessons are practical and focused on real coding experience.
My teaching philosophy is simple: learn by doing. I believe students understand programming best when they write code regularly and solve real problems. I explain concepts in clear, small steps and make sure every student understands the logic behind the code. I also focus on writing clean and efficient programs.
One of my key achievements is helping many students move from beginners to confident programmers. Some have improved their grades, while others have built projects and prepared for technical roles. I provide regular feedback and personal guidance to help each student grow. My goal is to make programming simple, logical, and enjoyable for everyone.

My teaching approach in Computer Programming is practical, structured, and student-focused. I teach school and university students, starting from programming basics to advanced concepts. My main focus is Java, and I also cover object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, SQL, database management, web development basics, and software development principles.
I believe programming is best learned by doing. Each lesson includes clear explanations, live coding, and hands-on practice. Students work on small projects and real-world problems to strengthen their logic and problem-solving skills. I also guide them in debugging and writing clean, efficient code.
I adapt to different learning styles. Some students learn better with visual explanations, while others prefer step-by-step coding practice. I stay flexible and adjust the pace according to the student’s level and goals. Collaboration is important in my sessions, so I encourage discussion, idea sharing, and active participation.
Positivity shapes my classroom environment. I motivate students to keep trying, even when concepts feel challenging. With regular feedback, practice tasks, and project support, I help students prepare for exams, assignments, and future tech careers with confidence.
