About RAMA
I am a secondary school teacher, teaching for past 25 years in reputed schools. I am a post-graduate in Geography and love to be with students from varied backgrounds and abilities.Academic qualifications
• I passed my first public examination i.e. S.S.C. followed by H.S.C. (10TH & 12TH) with first classes in the year 1984 and 1986 respectively.
• I finished my graduation from Sir Parshurambhau College of Pune (India)with Geography as my major subject in B.A. Thereafter my post graduation i.e. M,A, was also completed from the same college. In this attempt I specialized in Coastal Geomorphology.
• At B.A. as well as M.A. levels I secured first position in my college ( FIRST CLASS WITH DISTINCTION ) and accordingly I received the award for scoring the highest marks (R.P. Wagh award ) in the years 1989 and 1993.
• During my training in the field of education i.e. B.ED where also I am happy to state that I received first class. Further-more, my geography lesson was judged as a model lesson and I also received an award for getting maximum marks in Marathi which was my other method along with geography in the year 1991.
OTHER PROFESSIONAL COURSES
• Post graduate diploma in communication media for children
• After my graduation I did the above said diploma where I learnt to use various media effectively in order to communicate with children especially of 8-15 age group.
• During the internship of this course for practical experience I worked on the topic “CREATIVITY AMONGST CHILDREN” at Balbhavan Delhi.
• This course undertook different workshops like Art and Craft, Photography, Theatre, Puppet making ,Audio Visual aids , script writing , video shooting , film appreciation etc.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
• I am indeed happy to inform you that for the last 25 years I am an active member of worldwide organization of scout and Girl Guide. During the initial 2 years as a bulbul, for 6 years as a guide, for 3 years as Ranger and for past 14 years I am running a scout and a guide troop headed as guide captain successfully.
• I am a recipient of PRSIDENT’S AWARD in guiding.
• I have also undergone official training of Basic, Advanced courses of Guide captain conducted by Bharat Scouts and Guides.
• Recently I also achieved ‘HIMALAYA WOOD BADGE ‘the highest level as a guide captain.
• I am also the recipient of ‘Gangutai Patwardhan’ Best Guide Captain Award for the year 2009 – 2010.
• I have attended number of camps at local, District, State, National and International level.
• I have represented India at the International Jamboree held at Bremen, Germany. I have also been to England, Amsterdam as a guide.
• I am proud to state that my scouts and guides also have won laurels such as BEST SCOUT and BEST GUIDE at various competitions.
• Presently I am running a scout and guide troop of 400 students.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
• For the past 23 years I am working as a teacher in Secondary School, Pune ( India) for the first 20 years as a Geography, Marathi and Scout teacher and past 3 years in a school in Singapore with MOE
• I have always encouraged students to take part in Interschool Quiz competitions, projects and also field trips.
• I have undergone a basic and advanced computer course from Intel .
• I have trained 20 teachers from our school under ‘TEACH TO THE FUTURE’ programme of INTEL.
• My Geography lessons include use of various educational aids such as informative cds, maps, games etc.
• I have also encouraged Marathi learning by organizing various events such as Marathi book exhibition, movies, dramas, entertainment programmes, story -telling competitions and good hand writing competitions.
• I have also worked as a senior representative teacher and helping my school in administration.
• I have also helped my earlier school’s administration by regular observation of teachers and their evaluation along with confidential reports etc.

My method depends on the topic and level of the students. I engage my students by using a variety of techniques such as frontal teaching, group discussions, pair work, research, self-directed ways. I make use of power-point slides, videos, news articles etc.
